Zana Joelle, 20, beat 14 other contestants to secure the Miss Perak Model of the World 2008 title here, which earns her the right to represent the state in the Miss Malaysia Model of the World / International Model of the Year 2008 pageant.

Zana, a leggy school leaver who stands 178cm tall, also bagged six subsidiary titles, namely, Miss Model Best in Swimwear, Miss Personality, Miss Royal Ipoh Club, Miss Model Body Fitness, Miss Model Trendsetter, Miss Model Chivas.

First and second runners-up were school leaver Tereza Cheong, 20, and hair management student Danielle Pon, 22.

The Miss Malaysia Model of the World/Internatinal Model of the Year 2008 pageant will be held ar the Syuen Hotel on June 29.

INTERNATIONAL MODEL OF THE YEAR 2007 - KOREA

Jessie Chantelle is being appointed to represent Malaysia to Korea for the International Model of the Year 2007 competition.

Chantelle Chuah is being awarded the title Best in Evening Gown during the contest.

With her gorgeous look, she is also being selected by the Top Fashion Designer in Korea to perform a runway job together with other top fashion model for a show with Korean Top designer - Andre’ Kim.

Andre’ Kim was the first fashion maestro to stage a gala fashion paraade in front the Pyramid of Egypt, which is one of the 7 wonders of the world. He also presented an even more impressive gala fashion parade in front of another one of the Seven wonders of the world, the ankor Wat in Cambodia. Again, this is the first ever fashion show held in Ankor Wat.

Andre Kim presented his first fashion show in Paris, France in 1966. His creations were accorded such rave reviews that fashion editors of France, including one at Le Figaro, called him a "Magician from Fairyland".

Selangor lass Jessie Chuah was in London when she strumbled upon the website for the Miss Msia Model of the World 2007 contest.

The chance encounter proved to be a blessing, as the 23-year-old accountant won the title at the grand national finale.

Chuah beat 25 other contestants to take home RM5,000, a crown, sash, trophy and sponsored gifts.

Undergraduate Cassandra Athene Patrick, 21 of Sabah and Candy Tham, 22 of Negeri Sembilan emerged the first and second runner-up respectively.

Jessie will represent Msia at the 19th Miss Model of the World 2007 International Modelling contest in Huizhou, China in October.

Business Graduate Dawn Eik not only walked tall among the finalists of the Miss Perak Model of the World 2007 contest, she also walked away with the title as well.

Standing at 177cm, the 24year old towered over the rest of the 15 finalists in the grand final held on 24/4/2007.

First runner-up was college student Moo YanYee, 19, while sales executive Rachel Chan, 25 was the second runner up.

All three winners will represent Perak in the National Finals at Syuen Hotel on July 22.

                                         winner or 3 winners from each

                                         state will be representing its state

                                         and compete in the National Grand

The Miss Malaysia Model of the World 2006 is Organised and produced by STAR AVENUE PRODUCTION and presented by Marigold HL Low Fat Milk. The Main Sponsor for the event is Hock Nam Hin Fruits, Flowers & Gifts and Top Vision Video Production & Entertainment.

CROWD favourite Debbie Lai from Pahang beat 19 other girls to clinch the Miss Malaysia Model of the World 2006 title. Debbie a Make up artist, demonstrated confidence and maturity and poise during the contest. Debbie, who also bagged the Miss Personality title and Miss Classic Beauty, received RM5,000 cash, photography port folio, crown, trophy and etc. Priscillia Khoo of Penang, 22 who is stands at 1.74 metres tall, was the first runner-up in the pageant. She won RM2,000 cash, a trophy and gifts. Second runner up was Perak lass, College Student Sara-Jade Schipper, 18. Sarah, who stands at 1.77 metres tall, took home a total of RM1000 in cash, trophy and gifts.

The 3rd and 4th runner up went to Carmen Cheong of Perak and Iris H’ng of Perlis respectively. Sarah-Jade also grabbed the Miss Model Radiant Skin and Miss Model Audience Choice Award and Priscillia also being awarded Miss Model Best in Catwalk. Other subsidiary titles were won by Jessie Teoh (Miss Model Photogenic), while Part Time Model Jasy Wan was named Miss Model Best in Swimwear.

Among those attended the function were Local Popular Actor Mr Jacky Kam, Astro info station host Miss Eunice Ng, En. Jallaludin Hassan, etc.

`MISS MODEL OF THE WORLD’ ever since its establishment in 1988 has been successfully held for 17 years. For the last 17 years, more than 10000 models around the world have joined this contest. So far, ‘MISS MODEL OF THE WORLD CONTEST’ has become a world well-known logo of an international contest. Nowadays, among a variety of the worldwide model contest, “MISS MODEL OF THE WORLD CONTEST” has unique significance compared with ordinary model contests.
